In addition to the stationary installed silicone stuffer units, LWB Steinl has designed a mobile stand-alone unit to be used on different machine types, especially on presses with an injection unit situated above the upper machine bolster plate.
This compact device is equipped with a hydraulic and a control unit and can easily be moved to different machines on transport rolls.
The necessary signals for the start and end signals are carried out via a simple connection with the machine control system. The silicone stuffer is connected to the extruder with an easy to change riser-tube, which can easily be adapted to different machine sizes.
Due to the use of several riser-tubes, the mobile silicon stuffer can be used for different machines and materials. Additionally, it is possible to equip the riser-tube and the stuffer-cylinder with a heater band to allow a better processing of the silicone.
The stuffer-cylinder is provided with a level-indicator, which gives the operator at an early stage the information to refill the unit. Additionally another level-indicator with the indication “too low”, avoids the start of a new cycle and thus an incomplete filling of the injection unit.
To refill the silicone unit with material, the piston must be in lower position. With the help of a lever mechanism one can open the locked stuffer and the chamber swivels out. Thus new material can be refilled in an ergonomical position.
A vacuum connection and a vacuum valve ensure an air-free refilling of the stuffer chamber.
The vacuum connection fits the standard vacuum pumps normally used with rubber injection presses. After the material is refilled into the chamber, the stuffer piston which is equipped with a polyamide sealing, drives into vacuum position. For cleaning purposes the stuffer piston drives completely out of the chamber so that cleaning can easily be carried out.
The mobile silicon stuffer unit is available in three sizes: 5.000. 10.000 and 14.000 cc.
